Pomodoro is a time management method that encourages cycles of intense focus and short breaks to boost productivity. According to some studies, our ability to maintain high-intensity focus tends to dwindle after about 30 minutes.
Podomori takes this into account and structures your work time accordingly. Here's how it works: you start with 25 minutes of high-intensity, dedicated work, uninterrupted by distractions, no drink, no toilet, no chit-chat, no browsing. Following this, you take a 5-minute breather which you can get some drink, toilet, chit-chat and browsing.
This cycle of work and rest repeats four times in total. To put it simply, a complete Podomori session runs for two hours. It includes four cycles, each cycle comprising 25 minutes of focused work and a 5-minute rest period. This system aids in maintaining a high level of productivity while avoiding burnout.
